Directive to preserve Bouddhanath Area records

The Office of the Auditor General has directed the Shree Bouddhanath Area Development Committee to properly preserve records of its annual research and studies concerning the Bouddhanath area. The committee has been criticized for failing to maintain a systematic archive of social, economic, cultural, and archaeological research materials related to Buddhism. Ongoing disputes between the committee and the Buddha and Melamchi Ghyang Guthi have also impeded the development of heritage sites in the area.
