Pokhara School Land Cleared of Encroaching Structures After Court Ruling

Photo · english.ratopati.com

Temporary structures that had encroached on Amar Singh Secondary School land in Pokhara Metropolitan City for three decades have been removed. Following a court ruling in favor of the school and a subsequent 15-day notice, 53 commercial stalls were vacated by businesspersons after negotiations with the Mayor.

  • The removal of the structures, which had occupied the school's land for the past 30 years, has now placed the land under the full ownership and use of Amar Singh Secondary School.
  • Businesspersons had previously defied school notices and filed a court case, but the court ultimately ruled in favor of the school.
  • A final deadline of Jestha 4 was agreed upon for the removal of the stalls after discussions between the Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor and the businesspersons.
  • The businesspersons safely transferred their goods and vacated the stalls in accordance with the agreement and the approaching deadline.
