Four-lane bridge construction in Damuali reaches 84% physical progress

The physical progress of a four-lane bridge being constructed over the Madi River in Damuali bazaar has reached 84 percent, with economic progress at 81.2 percent. The bridge, a first of its kind in the country with a single monolithic structure, is being built at a cost of Rs 1.21 billion. Construction is progressing rapidly, with foundation work completed and arch design underway.

  • The bridge construction, which began with a three-year aim, had its contract deadline expired on Bhadra 21 and has been extended until Asar 19.
  • The contract for the 315-meter-long bridge, featuring six spans and two completed prestressed box girder spans, was signed in Shrawan, 2079 BS.
  • Site Manager Dinesh Kumar Shrestha of Annak ZDJC JV stated that they are working to complete the work within the extended deadline.
  • The new four-lane bridge, with the longest arch design on the Prithvi Highway, is being constructed approximately 50 meters from the existing two-lane bridge.
