Photo · english.nepalnews.com

The PVCDC has issued a public notice demanding the removal of all structures, including shops, from the Pokhara Bus Park area within 15 days. The committee aims to clear encroached land, originally acquired for a stalled bus park project, to proceed with its construction. Failure to comply will result in the PVCDC forcibly removing the structures and recovering costs.

  • The PVCDC has instructed landowners in the bus park area to submit citizenship certificates, land ownership documents, and revenue payment receipts within seven days.
  • This notice follows a previous public announcement on April 17 by the Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality – 9 regarding encroachments on bus park land.
  • Approximately 205 ropani of land was acquired for the bus park project around 2031/32 BS, but only about 60 ropani remain available due to encroachment.
  • The land designated for the bus park is currently occupied by landless residents, landless Dalits, and landless squatters.
