Pokhara Bus Park Land Probe Committee Formed Amidst Compensation Disputes

A three-member committee has been formed to investigate allegations of irregularities in the distribution, sale, and compensation processes of land acquired for the Pokhara Bus Park. The committee, chaired by former judge Shankar Raj Baral, will review land transactions and compensation records from the past 51 years. Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya stated the panel aims to uncover the reality of the issues surrounding the bus park land.

  • The probe panel is tasked with examining 187 ropani of land remaining from the original 196 ropani acquired in 2030 BS for the bus park project.
  • The committee has been given 15 working days to submit its report on the land transactions and compensation records.
  • Separate committees have also been formed to identify genuine landless and squatter families residing in the bus park area.
  • Mayor Dhanraj Acharya emphasized the need for collective efforts to resolve the long-standing issue and develop the bus park project.
