Two female personnel from the Armed Police Force (APF), Nepal, Assistant Sub-Inspector Nim Dikki Sherpa and Assistant Head Constable Anita Karki, successfully summited Mount Everest on Sunday. Karki reached the peak at 10:20 AM, followed by Sherpa at 11:55 AM, marking the first Everest ascent by a women's team from the APF. The APF hailed the achievement as historic and a step towards inspiring greater female participation within the force.

  • Karki and Sherpa are the third and fourth APF personnel, respectively, to summit Mount Everest.
  • Both climbers have prior experience, having previously summited Mount Chulu Far East and Mount Lobuche.
  • Anita Karki is also a national fencing athlete from Ramechhap district, while Nim Dikki Sherpa is from Ilam district.
  • The APF believes this success will encourage women's participation, capacity, and leadership within the organization.
