Japan has commenced the rehabilitation of flood-damaged sections of the BP Highway following a groundbreaking ceremony attended by Ministry of Infrastructure Development Gopal Prasad Sigdel and Japanese Ambassador Maeda Toru. Shimizu Corporation will implement the project, funded by a 2.8 billion yen grant from Japan, to repair the highway damaged by floods in September 2024. This initiative marks a significant step in strengthening the 70-year-old diplomatic relations between Japan and Nepal.
