Parliamentary committee directs govt. to resolve construction entrepreneurs’ concerns

The Infrastructure Development Committee has directed the government to resolve the issues of construction entrepreneurs, emphasizing timely payments and a conducive working environment. Lawmakers highlighted the need to increase investment in domestic raw material production and address delays in project completion, which lead to compensation costs for the state. The committee also noted the slow progress on the handover of a border-connecting bridge in Hilsa and the need for coordination regarding the Hilsa–Simkot road. The Ministry of Infrastructure Development acknowledged rising construction material prices and expressed readiness to ease the situation.
