Construction of the 400 kV Hetauda-Dhalkebar-Duhabi transmission line has resumed after being halted for years due to compensation and land disputes. The project has gained momentum following initiatives by Energy Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, leading to landowners accepting compensation after continuous dialogue, according to the Nepal Electricity Authority.

  • The 134-kilometer Hetauda-Dhalkebar section faced delays, while the 154-kilometer Dhalkebar-Inaruwa section is already operational.
  • Out of 14 towers planned for the Hetauda area, three have been constructed, with work on two more underway and remaining structures in the final stages.
  • The transmission line project, initiated in 2012, was particularly affected by obstructions in the Hatiya area of Hetauda.
  • Land compensation distribution is ongoing, with officials expecting improved coordination to accelerate project completion.
