The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office has penalized 17 drivers for operating vehicles in poor mechanical condition during a special inspection campaign in Kirtipur. The campaign, aimed at enhancing road safety and reducing accidents, tested 47 vehicles, with 17 found to be non-compliant with safety standards. Traffic police spokesperson Naresh Raj Subedi stated that operating mechanically weak vehicles poses a significant challenge to road safety.
