Nepal’s trade deficit expands by nearly 15 percent amid rising imports

Nepal's trade deficit widened by nearly 15 percent in the first ten months of fiscal year 2082/83 BS, with imports rising by 14.82 percent to approximately Rs 1.69 trillion. Exports also saw a positive growth of around 14.25 percent, reaching Rs 2.48 kharba by the month of Baisakh. Major imports included mineral fuels, oils, iron, steel, and machinery, while key exports were fats and oils, coffee, tea, spices, fibres, carpets, and apparel.
