Armed Police Force

The Nepali government has placed 26,219 security personnel, including 134 deep divers, on standby for search and rescue operations ahead of the monsoon season. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), these resources are prepared for mobilization across the country based on disaster needs and national response plans.

An Indian national, identified as Param Pathak from Kolkata, was apprehended at the Kakarbhitta customs checkpoint with 570 grams of 24-carat gold valued at 14.46 million rupees and 20,000 US dollars. The Armed Police Force Nepal seized the gold, currency, and other personal items during a routine check on Monday evening.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has urged citizens in Humla and Bajura districts to exercise restraint following an incident in the border area. A high-level investigation team, led by a Senior Superintendent of Police, has been formed to probe the event and submit a report, while additional security forces have been deployed to maintain peace and order.

Seven personnel of the Armed Police Force (APF) collapsed during a morning training run in Tikapur due to suspected severe heat stroke amid extreme temperatures. The affected individuals were initially treated at Tikapur Hospital before being airlifted to Kathmandu for advanced medical care.
